I love this! What a fun dream. You'll have to keep us posted and if you try out, blog about the whole process.

You do have Roller Derby in you! We just need to find it! You can still be a bad ass and a mommy. It is possible. I have faith we will see it and your kids will love it too!

Love the ambition to try something COMPLETELY different! I always thought that Roller Derby looked like fun too-- you'll have to report back as to what they say about tryouts!

Love this! I secretly aspire to a bad ass fight chick....a la Trinity from the Matrix.

You totally crack me up! You would make one heck of a roller derby momma. Your strength is still in there - I see it all the time in what a kick ass mom you are.

Thanks guys. You will have to help me come up with names! Robin likes Mean Mommy, but that is my alter ego already. I need a meaner name :)

LOOOOVE this!! DO IT! You rock, Susie!!

Go for it! I'd love to hear you blog about the whole experience.

You should totally do it! Sue, this is the best piece you have written yet. I loved it.

I say go for it. Life's too short to have regrets!

Can't wait to see you flying around the rink working off some of the daily aggression:) You are an awesome person and can do anything that you put your mind to!

Wow! So many great supportive comments! Thank you all so much! I will keep you posted...

Love love love it! You're such a fabulous writer. My fantasy is to take hip hop dance lessons and "hit" like those young 20-somethings on "So You Think You Can Dance". Ugh!

Ok I came across this looking for derby pics for my class plans (I teach at the local university). I just started roller derby this season (official tryouts are in a couple of weeks) and it is by far the best thing I have EVER done. In a matter of weeks I have seen my confidence in myself skyrocket. Granted, I am scared before almost every practice, but I have determined to go straight at every fear and kick it's a**!!! Try out! You will be so happy you did (and your husband probably will too ;).
